Energy Recovery Systems

There are two types of Energy Recovery Systems: a Heat Recovery Ventilator (HRV) and an Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) . These systems are used to recover energy that would be lost through exhaust air; to pre-heat or cool the supply air. The HRV system will capture and recycle only sensible heat. The ERV system or Total Energy Recovery system will capture and recycle both sensible and latent heat. This operation maximizes energy savings and earns points towards the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
