Dwyer Instruments: Series 8, Mineral Insulated Thermocouples & RTD's

Limited to 450°C

Mineral Insulated Thermocouples are known for their excellent mechanical durability and resistance to electrical breakdown. Probe sheaths can be bent most any angle without special equipment. For smaller sheath diameters, and transition fitting is used between the cold end of the sheath and the extension wires. This fitting is 1-1/4" long by 1/4" OD for 1" and smaller sheath diameters, 1-1/2" long by 3/8" OD for 3/16" and 1/4" sheath diameters. Tip temperatures limits depend on sensor type, while the fiberglass extension wire is limited to 450°C (842°F). For high temperature applications such as in ovens or kilns, see Series 7 Protection Tube Assembly Thermocouples.
