TXV is a commonly used abbreviation for a thermal expansion valve. The main purpose of a TXV is to control the amount of refrigerant flow into the evaporator. This makes the TXV among the most important of all refrigeration parts. By regulating the flow, the TXV controlls the superheating at the evaporator.
